Something more about me, myself & I
Did you ever ask yourself about which are my hobbies, my passions and so on? Probably not, but since you came to this page, I think you have to read now! ;)
| My passions | |
| Football | I'm very fond of football (soccer for American friends), as almost any Italian guy; in my
hometown there are 2 football teams, one of which is the oldest in Italy, but my favourite is the other one, the great and the
only Sampdoria Outside of Italy I'm a great fan of FC St.Pauli, the cray brown-white team from Hamburg, really a special team: impossible not to love it! |
| Formula 1 | Here in Italy almost everyone is a great fan of Ferrari, and I was too in the past; but then, but while the years passed, I started to look more at the driver than at the manifacturer, and I felt attracted mostly by Finnish drivers, and English cars with German engines... So, by now, I can say I'm happy if McLaren-Mercedes wins, and thanks to Kimi Räikkönen. |
| MotoGP | I had the big luck to have a father who worked in the MotoGP for several years, so I had the chance to see this strange motorcycle world from a very good point of view, and also from the inside. Valentino Rossi is THE rider, no one is better than him right now, and all Italians are proud of him (except Biaggi's fans maybe). By now my favourite driver in the MotoGP is Marco Melandri, very talented and modest guy, I hope he will be the Champion one day. |
| Italian Music | I grew up listening Italian music and I started playing the guitar thanks to one man, Edoardo Bennato, the great "cantautore" from Naples. I still love his songs from the '70s, but of course, being born and raised in Genova I love Fabrizio de André too, the greatest Italian singer, author, and poet. |
| International Music | Music is one of my greatest passion, and I couldn't just listen to the Italian one. So I started to learn music from the great rockstars of the past 30 years, from Bob Dylan, to Bruce Springsteen, and I concentrated myself mostly on the Progressive Rock scene of the '70s. Anyway, my favourite band is and will be the great Pink Floyd, but along with them the old Genesis, King Crimson, Yes, Van der Graaf Generator.... and the list could never finish. |
| Cinema | I started to be interested in cinema in these last years, probably when I stopped playing music, and I had to find some other passion. So I cannot say I have a big culture in cinema, and cannot consider myself a real 'cinephile'. Anyway, I don't like those big American kolossal productions, while I prefer smaller films, both American and European. One of my favourite is surely The big Lebowski, by Joel & Ethan Coen. |
| Film Director | Apart from the Coen Bros, which I adore, I like many film makers whose surname starts with K: Japanese Takeshi Kitano for example, but also serbian Emir Kusturica, the great and only Stanley Kubrick, the Finnish Aki Kaurismäki or the "maestro" from the far-east Akira Kurosawa. |
| Favourite Drink | That's quite an easy question to answer: I'm a beer lover! Of course, as a good Italian I like wine too, but there's nothing better and more refreshing than a good beer. My favourite are Czechs Starobrno and Pilsner Urquell, Lithuanian Švyturys and almost any Bavarian beer, from Weißbier to Helles and Dunkel. |
| Favourite Country | A lot of people think that Italy is the best country in the World, and maybe it's true when we talk about the beauty of towns, seaside, mountains and so on... but I love to travel, to see new places, new people, new cultures, so I'm always very attracted by foreign countries more than I am from my homeland, which I like of course. My favourite country has always been Germany, and I really cannot explain the reasons, while in the recent past I am very attracted by all Eastern European countries, Lithuania and Czech Republic most of all, maybe because of good friends, good beer, and pretty girls :) |
| Woman of my dreams | It's never easy to generalize when it's time to talk about women, and I cannot say if a famous actress, or supermodel would be my ideal woman, but without considering those facts, and talking about beauty, I can easily say that the woman of my dreams is without any doubt the French Laetitia Casta. |
